Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Authenticity & Certification
Is your jade real?
Yes. All of our jade pieces are 100% natural, untreated jadeite or nephrite. We do not sell dyed or chemically treated jade. We only sell authentic untreated jade.
Do your items come with certification?
Yes. Every jade piece includes our in-house certification of authenticity. In addition, 99% of our pieces have been evaluated by our partner gemology labs. These labs are among the most respected in the jade industry, with strict standards for evaluation.
Their reports are issued in Chinese, as 95% of the world’s jade trade is based in China; for your convenience, we provide an English certification from our store. If you would like the original lab certificates, we are happy to provide them upon request.
We stand behind the authenticity of our jade with a lifetime guarantee.
We can also facilitate evaluation through the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) at their standard service fee (usually around $100-$200).
Do you sell Grade A Jade?
Yes. “Grade A” (or “Type A”) jade refers to untreated, natural jadeite jade — and that is the only jadeite jade we sell. We exclusively offer authentic, natural, untreated jadeite. We do not sell treated jadeite of any kind (Type B, Type C, or Type B+C).
Does my piece come with a Gemological Institute of America (GIA) certificate?
Our pieces do not include GIA certificates unless specifically stated in the product listing. However, we can facilitate submission to the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) at their standard service fee. Please reach out if you would like a GIA certificate with your piece.

Jade Education & Care
What is the difference between jadeite and nephrite?
Jade is actually composed of two different minerals: jadeite and nephrite. Jadeite is rarer and often more valuable, known for its vibrant colors and translucency. Nephrite is more common but highly prized for its toughness, smooth texture, and rich, deep tones. We offer both jadeite and nephrite, clearly labeled in each product listing so you know exactly what you are purchasing.
For more details, see our article here: Differences between Jadeite and Nephrite
Why do some jade pieces have different prices?
The price of jade is determined by several key factors, including the type of jade (nephrite or jadeite), color, translucency, size, and the intricacy of carving. Because of these factors, jade can range from modestly priced pieces to rare, investment-grade treasures.
For more details, see our blog article: What Factors Determine the Price of Jade?
How can I tell if jade is real?
Natural jade has a smooth, cool feel, high density, and subtle natural variations in color and texture. However, visual inspection alone is not always reliable, which is why certification is important. At Aria Collection, every piece is verified and backed by our authenticity guarantee so you can purchase with confidence.
Is jade durable enough for everyday wear?
Yes. Jade is an exceptionally tough gemstone, especially nephrite, which has been valued for centuries for its durability. While jade is strong, we still recommend removing jewelry during heavy impact activities such as exercise to preserve its polish and longevity.
How should I care for my jade jewelry?
Jade is very easy to care for. Simply clean it with mild soap and lukewarm water, then dry with a soft cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, ultrasonic cleaners, or prolonged exposure to extreme heat. With proper care, jade can last for generations.
Is jade considered an investment gemstone?
Yes—fine jadeite can be collectible and hold long-term value. Like art, value depends on quality: color, translucency, texture, size, and craftsmanship. Type A (natural, untreated) jadeite is the standard for serious collecting, and high-quality jadeite bangles are especially prized as heirlooms due to their rarity and tradition.
Why does natural jade have variations?
Natural jade forms over millions of years, which creates unique color patterns, inclusions, and textures. These natural variations are part of what makes each piece one of a kind and a hallmark of genuine jade.
Do jade pieces have natural inclusions?
Yes. Natural untreated jade may contain internal textures, color zoning, or mineral inclusions. These are normal and help distinguish natural jade from treated or synthetic material.

Are your product photos edited or filtered?
We photograph all of our jade in natural lighting to reflect its true color and translucency. Only minimal exposure and brightness adjustments are made to match what the eye sees in real life. Beauty filters and heavy enhancements are a widespread issue in the jade industry. Smoothing filters, artificial sharpening, and color boosting can make jade appear cleaner, brighter, or more translucent than it actually is. We do not use these techniques.
Our goal is simple: to represent each piece as closely as possible to how it looks in person. That said, jade is naturally difficult to capture accurately, and slight variations may occur due to lighting conditions and differences in device screens.
How are you different from livestream sellers or dropshippers?
All of our jade is physically in the United States and in our possession. Every piece is individually inspected and photographed by us, so the item you see is the exact one you’ll receive. For listings with multiple similar pieces, each item is carefully matched to the quality and appearance shown, with only minor natural variations.
Many livestream sellers and dropshippers do not handle their inventory directly. Products are often shipped from overseas, and presentations may rely on strong lighting or beauty filters that can make jade appear brighter, smoother, or more translucent than it is in real life. We photograph in natural lighting with only minimal exposure adjustments—no smoothing, sharpening, or color-enhancing filters. Our goal is simple: to represent each piece as accurately as possible and deliver exactly what you expect.
