CARVING: The statue is carved in the form of a dragon turtle. The dragon turtle is a mythical creature that symbolizes courage, determination, fertility, longevity, power, success, and support. CARVING PROCESS: The hand carving is performed by a master carver and takes weeks of work. The master carver first designs the artwork by taking account the natural jade features. In this case, the master carver wanted to emphasize the strong green hues in the stone. If you look at the piece, the carving is so detailed you can even see the individual turtle shell scales. This piece is custom artwork that is designed based on the stone. This means there is only one piece like this in the world!
JADE COLOR: This jade piece has beautiful semi-translucent tones with striking hues of green and bronze mixd together. The tones are very beautiful throughout the piece! It is semi-translucent stone and allows light to shine through when held against the light or sun. This allows for a "glowing effect" when light reflects on the stone, which is beautiful under natural sunlight.
