CARVING: The pendant is exquisitely hand carved jade (one of a kind!) in the form of the Samantabhadra Buddha (Also known as Pu Xian). Samantabhadra Buddha means "Universal Worthy" or "all good" in sanskrit. He is associated with practice and meditation. He is the patron of the Lotus Sutra and, according to the Avatamsaka Sutra, made the ten great vows which are the basis of a bodhisattva. In Chinese Buddhism, Samantabhadra is known as Pǔxián and is associated with action. In Chinese Buddhism, he is also interpreted as the guardian Buddha for those who are of the Chinese zodiac Snake.
