CARVING: The pendant is exquisitely hand carved jade (one of a kind!) in the form of the Guan Yin, the Buddhist "Goddess of Mercy."
Guan Yin is the Chinese translation of Avalokitevara, the Buddha of compassion. She also symbolizes harmony and compassion. When wearing the Guan Yin symbol, it is said to protect its wearer and endow them with wisdom, harmony, and compassion. In this piece, the Goddess of Mercy is depicted as standing imbuing the wearer and the world with peace, harmony, wisdom, and positive thoughts she brings to the world and the wearer of this piece.
