NATURAL JADE: This is a high grade jade pendant necklace. The pendant is completely natural jadeite jade.
CARVING: The pendant is exquisitely hand carved jade (one of a kind!) in the form of the Samantabhadra Buddha (Also known as Pu Xian). Samantabhadra Buddha means "Universal Worthy" or "all good" in sanskrit. He is associated with practice and meditation. He is the patron of the Lotus Sutra and, according to the Avatamsaka Sutra, made the ten great vows which are the basis of a bodhisattva. In Chinese Buddhism, Samantabhadra is known as Pǔxián and is associated with action. In Chinese Buddhism, he is also interpreted as the guardian Buddha for those who are of the Chinese Zodiac Snake and Dragon.
In this artwork, the elephant, is shown with serene and gentle features, represents not only peace but also strength, wisdom, and patience. This harmonious pairing of Pu Xian Buddha with the elephant underscores the Buddha's virtues of benevolence and his commitment to spreading compassion and serenity. The back of the pendant has hand carved leaves to represent nature.
